City Position Available — Treasurer

The City of Bloomington is looking for a qualified person interested in the Treasurer position to contact the City Clerk or any of the City Councilors or Mayor.

Experience in working in QuickBooks Online and Excel spreadsheets is desired.  Responsibilities would include:

Collect information for accounts payable; payment of bills, and payroll.

Prepare payroll reports and send to the IRS and State.

Various other reports including County, PERSI, along with various other reports.

Attend monthly (and occasional special) City Council meetings; prepare payment information and documentation to present at the meeting; prepare YTD budget totals; prepare outstanding Sewer and Water accounts for the Council meetings.

Notify Sewer and Water customers of overdue payments.

Create deposits and take to the bank (both Sewer and Water payments and General Fund income), enter payment information into a spreadsheet and QuickBooks.  Look for direct deposit payments made by the State into the General Fund bank account and document those payments in QuickBooks.

Print bank statements from the online bank accounts.  Reconcile bank accounts monthly.

Prepare proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

Prepare yearly payroll information for W-2 preparation and mail W-2’s to employees.

Prepare/gather information for the yearly audit and deliver to CPA/pick up when completed.

Work with the City Clerk.

Miscellaneous other duties.
