On September 13, 2014 our City celebrated its 150 year old birthday. Some of the highlights included:

Face Painting by Tammy Turner – She is an amazing artist and many kids enjoyed her talents.

Red Neck Swimming Pool – The water was cold, but the kids didn’t notice. It was such fun watching them play in our country pool.

Displays of Bloomington History in the Hall – This is where the non-children could be found. It was wonderful seeing some of our favorite residents.

Wagon Rides – Heber Dunford provided hay rides and fun for all who climbed aboard his wagon.

Guest Speaker, Vance Madsen – Vance kept us laughing with stories he related from Bloomington’s past.

Pot Luck Dinner – It was so fun to share once again the food of our wonderful Bloomington cooks. Pot Lucks have almost disappeared, but we enjoyed the evening sharing food once again. The City provided smoked turkey and pulled pork, while the residents shared salads and desserts.

Fireworks – Once again the highlight of our celebration. Joe Dunford and company provided an amazing fireworks show.

Other activities included family pictures, volleyball, and lots of visiting. Thanks to all who made the celebration one to remember.
